Fisker taking its Karma plug-in hybrid on a 10-week tour

2010 Fisker KarmaStarting April 27, Fisker Automotive’s Karma plug-in hybrid will go on 10-week tour of its dealerships in the US and Canada. To date, more than 1,600 orders have been taken for the sedan. Each of these buyers who deposited $5,000 for the car is sure to be excited to see the hybrid for themselves.

Marti Eulberg, Fisker’s vice president of global sales and marketing, said that retailers had proposed the tour. Dealers may invite prospects to view the car. However, these dealership events won’t allow for test drives. Instead, the ride-and-drive events will take place later this year. Delivery of the Karmas that have been ordered is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2011. The Karma will visit 42 cities in 26 states, and three Canadian provinces. In North America, Fisker has 37 retailers, with several dealers owning more than one showroom. Fisker wants to clarify that those who have dropped deposits for the Karma will get the list of options and trim levels only in the third or fourth quarter. The orders for the Karma are concentrated on the West Coast but so far, it has attracted buyers from Florida, Arizona, and some parts of the East Coast as well.
